Lemonade Stand for a Good Cause

Lemonade Stand for a Good Cause

Written by Ms. Ryan

We are proud to share a wonderful initiative led by Mr. O’Reilly’s Grade 3 class, who recently organized a lemonade stand to raise money for charity. This hands-on project gave students the opportunity to combine teamwork, creativity, and generosity in a meaningful way.

The students took full responsibility for preparing the lemonade, using fresh ingredients to create a refreshing drink for their schoolmates. Each cup was sold for NT$20, and the stand quickly became a popular stop for students across different grade levels. Classes were given the chance to visit, and many students eagerly supported the cause while enjoying a delicious treat.

What makes this event especially commendable is its purpose. All proceeds from the lemonade stand were donated to Pencils of Promise, an organization dedicated to improving access to education for children around the world. Through this experience, students not only learned practical skills such as planning and preparation, but also gained a deeper understanding of empathy, global responsibility, and the impact of giving.

This initiative reflects the values we strive to instill at CIS—encouraging students to take action, think beyond themselves, and contribute positively to the wider community. We commend Mr. O’Reilly’s class for their hard work and generosity, and we thank everyone who supported this meaningful cause.
