The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award aims to empower young people to find their purpose, passion, and place in the world. At CTBC International Academy (CIA), we support our students as they learn new skills, overcome obstacles, and build the resilience and leadership that global universities and employers truly value.
We offer the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards to all eligible students. At CIA, there are no grade or age restrictions for any of these levels—students are encouraged to challenge themselves whenever they feel ready to embark on the journey.
To complete an Award, students choose their own activities across the following areas:
For those striving for the Gold Award, there is an additional fifth section: The Residential Project.
Students must spend at least five days and four nights away from home in a shared activity with people they do not know. This could involve environmental conservation projects, leadership camps, or volunteering at a remote community, challenging students to step far outside their comfort zones.
At CIA, we believe in the power of recognition. All successful Award participants are honored during our Graduation Ceremony, celebrating their hard work and personal growth in front of the entire school community.
