Returning to Campus and Welcoming Exchange Students from Japan

Written by Ms. Mavuso

After a brief interruption due to the recent typhoon, we are excited to welcome everyone back to campus. The storm may have temporarily disrupted our schedules, but it hasn’t diminished the sense of community that makes our school so special. As students return to their classes, there’s a renewed energy in the air, with everyone eager to get back to learning and reconnect with friends and teachers. The resilience and positivity shown by our students in the face of the typhoon reflect the strength of our school community.

This week also brings another special highlight—the arrival of our exchange students from Japan. We are honored to be hosting a group of bright and enthusiastic students who are joining us for a cultural exchange. I had the opportunity to speak with Hiruta, Tsubame and Asahi, three of our new exchange students, and they were all thrilled to be here. They shared how excited they are to make new friends and experience life on our campus, while also sharing their own culture with us.

Cultural exchange programs like this one are an invaluable opportunity for us to learn from one another. Hiruta, Asahi, and Tsubame bring a wealth of knowledge about Japanese traditions, customs, and perspectives. By engaging with them, we not only expand our understanding of another culture but also enrich our own school environment through diversity and mutual respect.

As we settle back into our routines, let’s embrace this fresh start, make our new friends feel welcome, and seize the chance to share in this unique exchange of ideas and traditions. We are confident that their time here will be as meaningful for them as it will be for all of us.
