Grade 3 Spreads Holiday Cheer at the CIS Food and Craft Fair

Written by Mr. Medina

On Friday, December 12, 2025, CIS Elementary was filled with festive cheer, creativity, and generosity as the annual Food and Craft Fair took place. This year’s event was proudly organized and led by Mr. O’Reilly and the Grade 3 students, who worked hard to plan, prepare, and run a truly memorable charity fundraiser.

In the weeks leading up to the fair, Grade 3 students learned what it means to create something from scratch, work as a team, and give back to the community. With guidance from Mr. O’Reilly, students brainstormed ideas, made handmade crafts, and helped organize the logistics of the event. Many families also joined in at home, spending quality time creating baked goods and crafts together—turning preparation into meaningful family moments.

On the day of the fair, the school campus came alive as students ran class stalls selling handmade art, crafts, cookies, cakes, and other treats. Each item was proudly student-made, and all food was individually wrapped to ensure safety. Students strengthened their creativity and planning skills by designing products, organizing displays, and preparing for a real school-wide event. They also practiced responsibility and teamwork by preparing their stalls, presenting their items, and supporting one another throughout the event.

The purpose of the Food and Craft Fair was not only to celebrate creativity, but also to raise money for charity. Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of the CIS community, the event was a huge success. We are delighted to share that a total of $20,495 was raised, with all proceeds donated to the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF). This incredible achievement highlights the compassion and teamwork that CIS students demonstrate every day.

The fair would not have been possible without the dedication of Mr. O’Reilly, the hardworking Grade 3 students, and the continued support of parents and staff. From organizing stalls to supporting students during the event, it was truly a whole-community effort.

The CIS Food and Craft Fair reminded us that learning goes far beyond the classroom. By combining creativity, collaboration, and kindness, our students gained valuable life skills while making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this special day. We are already looking forward to the next opportunity to learn, give, and celebrate together. 🎄✨
