CIS Community in Action: A Semester of Growth Ahead

CIS Community in Action: A Semester of Growth Ahead

Written by Mr. Horna

The past week was filled with activities that highlighted the strong connection between school, students, and families, setting a positive tone for the semester.

On Saturday, September 13, we proudly hosted Parents Day 2025. This special event gave families the chance to engage with teachers, explore the campus, and gain insights into our programs. Parents participated in guided tours, learned more about school bus services, uniform guidelines, and the wide-ranging college counseling support available at CIS. Above all, Parents Day underlined the importance of collaboration between home and school in supporting student growth. We sincerely thank all parents who attended and look forward to working together throughout the year.

Earlier on Friday afternoon, our school held the Junior High and Senior High Assembly. The session began with important remarks from Ms. Lin and Mr. Woodman, who outlined the 2025 Fall CIS policy and shared key expectations for the new semester. Their message encouraged students to commit to responsibility, respect, and active participation in building a strong school community.

Following this, teachers introduced the wide variety of extracurricular clubs available this semester. The presentation sparked student interest and showcased new opportunities to pursue passions outside the classroom. This semester’s clubs include:

Tabletop Tactics Club led by Ms. Lin, Hockey Club led by Mr. Wilmott, Basketball Club led by Mr. Cheng, IT Club led by Mr. Lu, Editor’s Club led by Mr. Tseng, Pool Ball Club led by Mr. Lin, Volleyball Club, and Hot Music Club.

To complement these opportunities, CIS is also pleased to share a community partnership: the CBS Weekend Basketball Training Program, hosted by the CTBC Extension Education Center. This initiative provides students aged 7–15 with additional opportunities to develop confidence, teamwork, and athletic skills through weekend training led by experienced coaches.

September has already shown the great things ahead; the 2025 school year promises to be inspiring and rewarding.
