Positive Parent Day 2026

Positive Parent Day 2026

Written by Mr. James

The first week back to the semester is always an exciting time at CIS, but this year it feels even more special. A palpable sense of positivity has been building all week, as new and returning students alike begin another 18-week semester of curiosity, discovery, and academic excellence. That energy was on full display during our first Parents’ Day, held Saturday morning, September 12th.

Turnout was robust across every grade level. After an opening session where all teachers introduced themselves, parents broke into groups to learn more about the school’s mission for the year ahead. High school and junior high parents met with their children’s homeroom teachers in the classrooms for an engaging exchange of information and concerns from our highly engaged parent community.

One Grade 9 parent summed up the sentiment well: “I’m so happy CIS has such great teachers that challenge my child on a daily basis.”

All in all, it was one of the best Parents’ Days we’ve had at CIS, setting a productive, proactive tone for the year ahead. Parent involvement is central to our school’s mission, built on the pyramid of education — the partnership between parents, teachers, and students. With such strong turnout, that foundation is as solid as ever heading into the semester.
