Student Perspectives: Why We Love Our School
Written by Mr. Horna
This Spring semester we have new students joining our campus, and we recently spoke with two students, Zhe Yuan and Sammie, to hear about their experiences. It’s clear that the transition to our campus has been a rewarding one for both.
A Welcoming and Friendly Community
A common theme between both students is the incredible social support. Zhe Yuan noted that “the classmates are friendly,” while Sammie echoed this, saying, “everyone is very friendly to me here.” Sammie also highlighted that the faculty contributes to this warm atmosphere, mentioning that “the teachers here are also very friendly.”
This stands in stark contrast to Sammie’s previous experiences; she shared that at her old school, “many girls would form small groups and exclude others,” which often made her feel uncomfortable. Here, she feels a much stronger sense of belonging.
Academic Balance and Structure
The students also appreciate the way learning is organized. Zhe Yuan mentioned that “everything is planned and structured very well.” While he noted that there is “a lot of homework,” Sammie found the overall academic pressure to be more manageable than what she was used to. She observed that “the pressure of schoolwork here isn’t as high as my previous school,” which has helped her adapt more easily.
The Best Part of the Day: Lunch!
If there is one thing both students agree on, it’s the quality of the school meals. Zhe Yuan raved that “the lunch is very good” and even “better than the lunch outside.” Sammie was equally enthusiastic, simply stating, “I like the lunch here, I think it’s delicious.”
Ready for PE! Sammie and Zhe Yuan catch a moment before class to share their favorite things about life on campus.
Campus Developments: Building Our Future
In addition to these wonderful student experiences, we are thrilled to share that our ongoing campus construction is progressing smoothly and is well on its way to completion. We want to extend our sincere gratitude to all parents for your continued patience and understanding during this period of growth. This project is a vital step in our commitment to inclusivity, as these improvements will significantly enhance campus accessibility for all members of our community. We look forward to unveiling a more accessible, modern environment that will better serve our students’ needs and support their learning journey.
